My story

My name is Alex. I know this pattern because I lived it.

I was married young and divorced young. It broke my heart, and it broke my model of the world so completely that I decided I wanted to understand why that happened, and how.

Where I started

I was lost, clueless, and addicted to whatever kept me safe.

Substances. Distraction. Every safety mechanism a man reaches for when he doesn't want to feel what's actually there. Looking back on that season I'm humbled by it, and grateful. It was the thing that finally made me look.

I rebuilt from the body up, through the kind of honesty that doesn't feel good going down, doing the work most men spend a lifetime avoiding. Not once. Over and over, as each layer came up.

I'm married again now, to Danielle, and we're raising Sèva and Kaia. I teach men how to love well by starting with themselves, because the way we love is the legacy we leave behind.

Why I do this

It's hard to take a real look at yourself without help.

I became a coach because I wanted to help men who were suffering with the same things I had. I've seen so many of them come through my door, and the patterns are always similar. The hurt is real. My heart goes out to men who are suffering in their relationships because no one ever taught them how to be a man in this way.

Most of us either copy what we saw from our parents or run from it and make an even bigger mess. Neither one was ever going to work.

The generations before us didn't know how to work with their emotions. They were busy with wars and famine and keeping a family fed. I think we're at a place now where we owe it to them, to our ancestors, to bring back the wisdom that got lost along the way and learn to hold ourselves in a beautiful way.

I want to be that mirror for the men who need it.

How I work

We don't just talk it out.

Talking is where most men are most comfortable, and it's where the least changes. I'll use breathwork, hypnosis, somatic therapy, meditation and whatever else the moment calls for to uncover what's true, walk you toward it so you can meet it, and teach you to work with it in your own life.

One client called it mental acupuncture. I'll take that.

My own healing led me somewhere I couldn't not share what I'd learned. I've studied breathwork, embodiment and somatic therapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, relationship coaching, Buddhist and Jungian psychology, and holistic health, and I've spent years in men's work leadership.

I've been honored to learn from Comanche elders, teachers of the esoteric arts, Buddhist psychologists, men's work leaders and some of the best holistic health practitioners in the world. It's a privilege to walk in these ways, and I don't take the responsibility for granted.

Austin, Texas

Formerly Brahma Health Consulting.

Same man, same work, sharper name. The Art of Legacy is what the work was always about: who you become, and what that leaves behind for the people who love you.

I work in person in Austin and online with men anywhere.

Why legacy

The ripples carry on well past when my heart stops beating.

I'm indescribably grateful to my wife, Danielle, and to our children, Sèva and Kaia, for how they've inspired my heart to leave behind a legacy of love: one that carries on in the ripples of connection I create with them, well past when mine stops beating.

My hope is that if you've found this work, you find something in it worth bringing back into your life. Something that expands your heart, shares your love with the world, and reminds you who you truly are.

May you be happy. May you be free. May your heart be filled with love, may your mind be peaceful, and may the twilight red of the beautiful sunset always know your name.

With gratitude and love,
Alex

If any of this sounds like the inside of your own head, let's talk.

A thirty-minute conversation. No pitch. You tell me what's going on, and we find out together whether working with me makes sense.
